Haiti - Social : 2nd phase of project of modernization of the Civil Registry 15/11/2012 11:15:21 The Minister Casimir, welcomed the modernization of the civil status Haitian "which is part of a dynamics to ensure the country's development." For his part, the Ambassador of Venezuela, said he was satisfied with the execution of this project and believes that this modernization, will participate in the standardization of the identity card. The Director General of the ONI declared "[...] the equipment that we used were components parts, we now have modern equipment monobloc, easily transportable which will allow us to move quickly in remote areas [...] We will begin to identify children at birth, we will register the miners and then we'll go in the diaspora, these are the most important activities that we will have as part of this modernization [...] now we have offices at the municipal level and we will create new routes of entry to reach the communal sections [...] If you ask me the project duration, I would say that the project does not have a fixed duration, a time when we will finish, it will end when everything included in the framework of cooperation will have culminated [...] in general, we still have a technical contribution of several partners, but in the case of Venezuela, it is more financial than technical [...] Today, in this 2nd phase, we will make 2 major meetings: a meeting with technical partners and a meeting with an interministerial committee including several ministries : the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, of Haitians Living Abroad, Culture and the Ministry of Planning, so that we can look at exactly how we can start and what follow we will give, to ensure us that all components and activities are performed as planned [...] The next step is a meeting with technical partners, so that indeed we launched the project, that we deploy it, as soon as we receive the modern equipment [...] All older cards will remain valid until exhaustion [expiry date]. Gradually we will issue the new cards [valid for 5 years], which are much more difficult to forge by counterfeiters [...] It is clear that current cards have an expiration date and it is from renewal, that we will change them. By cons, for those who do not have card, that will apply for a card, they will enter directly in this era of modernization..."
