Haiti - Social : Strengthening of the security throughout the national territory
The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe presided Tuesday afternoon, at the General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), a special meeting of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), to decide on the new provisions for improve the security climate in the country.

In this high-level meeting, attended exceptionally, all the responsible of police station and sub police station of the metropolitan area of ​​Port-au-Prince.

At the end of this 21st meeting of the CSPN, a series of measures have been taken to strengthen security throughout the national territory, including, in Jacmel where are deployed specialized units of the PNH to restore calm and ensure the safety of lives and property.

This meeting was followed by a press conference where the Prime Minister explained "[...] The purpose of the meeting was to mobilize, motivate the troops of the PNH and give them all the support of the Government and let them know that there is a political will so that they could do their work without problem. We repeated the instructions, namely that the role of the police was to protect the lives and property of the people [...] it is necessary that people feel safe [...] we also wanted meet all officials of Police stations and sub police stations, for a more effective implementation of security measures [...] for economic investment to happen, there must have security in the streets [...] we heard the grievances of the Heads of different police station and various measures will be taken at the CSPN to have a sustainable efficiency and visible [...]

The situation of Jacmel, it is a great concern for us and we take it very seriously and it was one of the reason why we convened the CSPN. To this end, we made a change of command in the department of South-East, the Departmental Director Sagesse Ovilma, was transferred and replaced by the Commissioner Frantz Elbe. We sent specialized units [...] to restore order in the city. And these specialized units have arrived and have already started their work [...]
