Haiti - Diaspora : The Haitian Activist Viter Juste, left our world

The Consulate General of Haiti in Miami has learned with dismay the news of the disappearance of the Haitian activist Viter Juste that occurred in Haiti on past weekend at the age of 87 years.

Born in Gonaives, Haiti, December 15, 1924, Mr. Viter Juste had left the country in the 70s, for political reasons. He settled first in New York and later to Miami with his family.

During the 80s, Mr. Viter Juste, was an active member of the community of Miami and was opposed to the policy of "Miami-Dade School Board" to prohibit undocumented Haitian children from attending school . He was also a member of "Haitian American Community Association of Dade".

Today, the history retains the name of Viter Juste, to be the one who contributed to give the name of "Little Haiti", to one of the most popular areas of Miami Dade County.

The Consul General of Haiti in Miami, François Guillaume II, joined his voice to the Haitian community of South Florida and the Haitian people, to wish his sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Viter Juste, that has spent decades as an activist to defend the Haitian community of Miami.

Daniel Supplice, the Minister of Haitians living abroad, recalls that this leader of the Haitian community of Miami, had opened the production house "Les Cousins" and a bookstore on Second Avenue in the North East. The Minister bows to the remains of the political activist and presents his sincere condolences to his family and to the entire Haitian community of Miami.
