Haiti - Politic : Tripartite meeting Haiti-Cuba-Venezuela

This week, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, joined by Marie Carmelle Jean Marie, Minister of Economy and Finance, met Ricardo Garcia, the Cuban Ambassador and Pedro Antonio Canino Naples, Ambassador of Venezuela in the framework of the tripartite cooperation agreements.

The Prime Minister thanked the governments of Cuba and Venezuela for the substantial assistance provided to his country before addressing several issues in the framework of cooperation agreements.

On the agenda of this meeting, it was discussed among others : of the plantation of several million trees to improve the environmental situation and the fight against deforestation ; of 3 power plants given by Venezuela and Cuba, which will be located in Gonaives, Cap Haitien and Carrefour to improve electrical service to the population ; of a project of 5,000 social houses, in which the Government is committed and of education sector, in this regard, the Prime Minister stressed that millions of people are still illiterate and a mass literacy was necessary.
