Haiti - Culture : The movement Saint-Soleil celebrates its 40th anniversary 30/11/2012 13:30:26
40 years later, of artist of generations Saint-Soleil, founded the Artists Association Saint-Soleil (AASS) to sustain the movement Saint-Soleil. Guethin Exile and Denis Smith, President and Vice-President of the AASS announced the holding Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December, of an event sociocultural in Soisson-la-Montagne, to commemorate the 40th anniversary "these activities will be an opportunity for members of the Movement of Saint Soleil to pay tribute to all the artists who are committed to promoting Haitian culture," said Denis Smith and the opportunity for the public to appreciate the artistic works of members of the movement, which by its mission, "help Haitian citizens to recognize their true identity through painting." An exhibition-sale will also be held on site. A bust of Tiga (1935-2006) will be unveiled at this artistic event. Guethin Exile and Denis Smith reiterated their willingness to work to make of the AASS a benchmark in arts and culture in the country and promised to oversee the Haitian artists so they can produce under better conditions. December 4, will take place an exhibition at the National Pantheon in Haiti (MUPANAH). December 11, Nader Gallery will host an exhibition-sale. 13 and 14 December, Quisqueya University will host a rotation artistic of children 3-13 years, in parallel with an exhibition-sale. Guethin Exile explained that the rotation artistic is a technique of free creation invented by "Tiga" which consists to put at disposition work materials (paint, clay, clay, ink etc...), to the creative spirit of volunteers. Commemorative events will continue until January 2013, January 21, 2013, will take another exposure to the Mupanah. HL/ HaitiLibre
