Haiti - Humanitarian : Venezuela sent 180 tons of additional aid to Haiti

Nestor Reverol, the Venezuelan Minister of Popular Power for Interior Relations and Justice, confirmed that 380 tons of humanitarian aid destined for Cuba (200 tons) and Haiti (180 tonnes) were loaded onto the vessel T-63 of the National Navy, which left the port of La Guaira, Vargas State this Monday, Dec. 2, 2012.

The Minister Reverol eiterated the commitment of the people of Venezuela and of President Chavez, to the cooperation with the brotherly countries and stated that this assistance included : 250,000 school kitsmedicines, medical and surgical equipment and small machinery to remove debris, recalling that 1,400 schools had been affected by the passage of Sandy in both countries.

So far, the Government of Venezuela had sent 1,867 tons of supplies to Cuba and Haiti specified the Minister Reverol.
