Haiti - Justice : The Lawyer of Aristide examines the complaint against his client

Following a complaint filed against former President Aristide, on December 6 by former protected of "Lafanmi se Lavi" a social organization intended to rehabilitate the poor and abandoned children, for alleged actions of physical violence, economic exploitation and the use of their cause for personal purposes.

The complaint was filed by some 20 young and confirmed by Me Lucmane Délile, the Government Commissioner.

Me Camille Leblanc, a lawyer of the former President confirmed that he was instructed to defend his client Jean-Bertrand Aristide, against a charge against him by former beneficiaries of a social assistance programs led by former President before his ascension to power December 16, 1990.

Me Camille Leblanc made a statement to the media, to inform on the measures he as initiated to determine the nature of the charges against Mr. Aristide and "how to manage things."

Me Camille Leblanc declared that the prosecutor will determine if there is a "criminal offense" to take into consideration against the former President. "In this case, we will respond in accordance with the law", adding that otherwise the issue will be definitively classified.
