The creation of several faculties forming the State University of Haiti (UEH) is older than the university itself, founded by decree dated December 16, 1960. Example, the Faculty of Law and Economics established in 1860, the Faculty of Sciences in 1942.

The piecemeal development of the University, without opportunities for students to be on the same campus, place of activities of all kinds, has not favored the establishment of ties of solidarity, friendly relations among its graduates.

The project of creation of the Alumni Association of the University, aims, among other objectives, to be a means of promoting the intellectual, cultural, sports among its members. A space for reflection on the scientific, economic and social issues. An institution actively involved in community life.

In order to realize this project, an initiative committee was formed. It is composed of : Ms. Hilda Alcindor, Mr. Lyonel Sanon, Mr. Huguenel Alezi, Ms. Suzie Castor and Mr. Pierre Buteau.
