Haiti - Social : Heroes' Day Commemoration

The President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, accompanied by the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, participated Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the commemoration of the Heroes' Day at the National Pantheon Museum of Haiti (MUPANAH).

This offering ceremony and of meditation, which took place in the presence, of members of the Cabinet, executives of public administration, the President of the Court of Cassation, of President of the Senate, of Director General and members of the command of the National Police of Haiti and the Prime Minister of Curaçao, was an opportunity for the Head of State to meditate and remember the role played by our ancestors in the struggle for independence and the founding of our Nation.

The President Martelly has expressed the wish to see Haiti become a strong and united Nation that will allow all its son to fully enjoy their rights. He urged citizens to fulfill their duty in order to put the country back on the track of development.

The commemoration of Heroes' Day ended with a parade of units of the PNH, on the area of ​​the Champ-de-Mars.
