Haiti - Economy : Delegation of investors in Jacmel
Last Saturday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism has conducted a visit to to evaluate opportunities in Jacmel, accompanied by a delegation of potential investors, of the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

Moreover René Jean Jumeau, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of energy security, accompanied by its Director General and several foreign engineers visited the Hydroelectric plan of Gaillard and the Thermal power plant of Jacmel as part of the technical evaluation of these plants and define the needs in the context of tourism development plan.

Mr. Jean Jumeau has a vast solar lighting project and of strengthening of electrical lines in all urban sections of the country, particularly in the South-East Department. Pierre-Michel Lafontant, Departmental Delegate of Southeast, proposed to engineers, the conducting of a comparative study on the different energy alternatives, in order to choose the most suitable for the region.
