Haiti - Social : The Consulate General of Haiti in Guadeloupe dismayed
The Consulate General of Haiti in Guadeloupe said it was dismayed to learn the news of the sinking of a boat, which occurred Sunday, January 20, 2013 off the coast of Dominica, with eight people on board including 6 Haitians.

Inspector John Carbon, Public Relations Officer of Police, said the wreck occurred around midnight. Haitian nationals were rescued about 5 miles west of Cabrits, taken ashore and admitted to the hospital of Portsmouth for care. Two people of Dominican nationality were handed over to the police for investigation.

According to information gathered from the authorities of Dominica, 6 people were rescued (4 Haitians and 2 Dominicans), the lifeless body of a woman was found and 1 person is missing.
