Haiti - Economy : Growth forecast (2013), Haiti first in the Caribbean 23/01/2013 09:31:12 The "World Bank's Global Economic Prospects" (World Bank), indicates in its report, that Haiti s going to experience a growth rate of GDP of around 6% in 2013, placing the country in a leading position in the Caribbean. For the years 2014-2015, Haiti intends to get a place in the category of countries with high growth in the region, by showing growth rates of around 4.2% The acceleration of growth in Haiti for years to come, as predicted the World Bank, is a very good news for the country because according to UNICEF, 78% of the Haitian population lives below the poverty line, including 56% in extreme poverty. Although there are many determinants to the growth, underlines the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) "there is a fundamental factor that plays the most crucial role. It is the investment. Indeed, in a country with a dynamic economy, it is investment that made progress the society with its multiple linkages between the different economic agents. Overall, the countries are progressing due to investments that have the dual advantage of acting on the growth both through its effects on supply and demand. Considering the importance of investment in developing countries, the IFC is at the heart of the battle for growth, because of its role of promoter and facilitator of investments in the country. The CFI, conscious of its role, under the leadership of Me Georges Andy René its CEO, has redouble efforts to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), so that Haiti can finally be in the the way of the prosperity."
