Haiti - Economy : Maritime Agreement between the APN and the Port of Jacksonville
Earlier this week, Alix Célestin, the Director General of the National Port Authority (APN), at the head of a delegation, visited the Port of Jacksonville in the United States, as part of the signing of a cooperation agreement for the development of the maritime sector in Haiti. This agreement follows the initial contact established by the President Martelly, during his visit to Florida in October 2012.

This agreement will allow the APN to implement the best strategy to attract investors in Haiti with the objective to build and operate transhipment ports in the country, in line with the credo of the Government Martelly-Lamothe "Haiti is open for business" and the policies of the Business Diplomacy.

The Directorate General of the APN reaffirms its determination to transform the maritime sector in Haiti, to make it modern and competitive, just like other similar institutions in the region, to the benefit of economic development.
