Haiti - Economy : Index of Consumer Prices (January 2013) 21/02/2013 10:41:12 The increases in the prices of consumer "Food, Beverages and Tobacco" (+0.2%), "Clothing, Shoes and Fabrics" (+0.8%), "Rent Housing, Energy and Water" (+0.5%) and "health "(+0.3%) still have influenced the overall level of the Index of Consumer Prices. Other consumption functions have almost stagnated compared to December. These include the "Development, Equipment, Maintenance of Housing", "Transport", "Leisure, Entertainment, Education and Culture" and "Other Goods and Services" which have varied respectively of (+0.1%). The "Food, Beverages and Tobacco" owes its rise to the increase among others, of corn grain (+3.4%), ground corn (+1.0%), fresh fish (+0.6%), salt herring (+2.6%), avocado (+1.9%), banana (+0.6%), the giraumont (+2.3%), eggplant and cabbage (+2.7%), orange (+5.1%), the chadèque (+2.6%) and lemon (+ 4.5%). By cons, products such as rice, wheat flour, meat in general, eggs, edible oil, tomato, potato, potato and coffee powder rather have trended downward. The progression of price index "Clothing, Shoes and Fabrics" mainly due to the positive change in the price of tissue (+ 3.9%), dress, jacket Universal (+1.0%), shirts (+1.7%) and sandals (+0.5%). The increase in the index of "Rent Housing, Energy and Water" has been following the rise in the price of rent housing (+0.5%) and charcoal (+0.9%). Finally, apart from the fee paid to doctors, all the posts of the "Health" have contributed to its rise.
