Haiti - Security : Major police operation in Cité Soleil

On the night of Thursday 21 to Friday 22 February, a major operation of the National Police of Haiti, led by Lucmane Délille, the Government Commissioner, having mobilized nearly 300 police officers led to the arrest in the neighborhood of Simon Pelé, Cité Soleil, of 6 alleged criminals.
Among those detained, Williams Pierre-Louis, suspected of being one of the leaders of the powerful gang "Base 117", which operated in the capital and Delmas 2, was in possession of a 9mm caliber weapon at the time of his arrest, his concubine also was arrested, indicated the Commissioner Délille, who reaffirmed his determination to combat the criminality and to restore order and law in the zones of "lawlessness" of Port-au-Prince. The Commissioner guarantee that these individuals will be tried and imprisoned if they are convicted of acts, imputed to them.
