Andress Apollo, the Director General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH), provided an update on the situation of the company "[...] I take this opportunity to provide clarification on the points of concern currently in EDH and to encourage and motivate an improvement in the performance [...] I must say, we started the 2012-2013 fiscal year really well, revenues for October and November were extremely interesting. We have problems with our billing system since mid-December, which raises many problems in our revenues, which fell in January and February [...] It is very important that all employees of the EDH are mobilized to find a solution and restart it as in October, towards a growth in revenues.

[...] I think that in the metropolitan area on the technical and engineering plan, the employees and teams of the EDH, I must congratulate them, because they have done an amazing job! We are rehabilitating 9 circuit and 6 sub-stations, and the rehabilitation such as any thing that is replaced, which is modernized, has as a temporary consequence, a decline in services. I explained it at the Council of Government this week, but as soon as the new equipment will be installed, the quality, quantity and stability of electricity delivered, will be visibly better and that is what is essential.

We're going towards a modernization and improvement, there are many positive things to see, but it is absolutely necessary to have funds to continue these investments and that is that we need to do our work, read the meter, deliver invoices, and receivables back. On the other hand, the population has also his work to do, by pay his bills [...]

We have a action plan for the fiscal year that is extremely ambitious. With good reason, we will never be satisfied of progress, because we resumes years and years of total abandonment of the sector. We already know that we can not do anything during this fiscal year, but we advance. If we want achieve our goals, we must push the effort much further [...] we work 24/24 in order to eventually provide electricity 24/24, but before it is necessary to work 24/24 and that's what we do..."
