Haiti - Tourism : The Advisory Board of Tourism becomes more dynamic

Wednesday, at the end of the second meeting of the Advisory Board of Tourism (CCT), an organ of support of Ministry of Tourism in the definition and operationalization of tourism policy in the country, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, in the presence of Josette Darguste, the Minister of Culture has reaffirmed her objective of "Bringing tourists to Haiti"

The CCT, which brings together all operators of private and public sector working in the field, has reviewed the regulatory framework in which it will evolve, the achievements and the action plan of the Ministry of Tourism. 62 tourist kiosks have been redeveloped, hotel schools are going to be opened in some cities : as many achievements that illustrate, in the opinion of the Minister of Tourism, the new tourism policy axed on the enhancement of sites and the staff training in the field.

Moreover, this same Wednesday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, received at the Karibe Convention Center, a file containing the results of research conducted on Haiti from the perspective of its perception abroad and of its socio-economic and cultural realities. This file also contains over 2000 positive images of Haiti, collected by professional photographers, it was assembled by "Brand Haiti" and the Digicel Foundation, initiated by the foundation "Soul of Haiti."

"The objective of the program 'Brand Haiti' is to contribute to improve the international competitiveness of Haiti by creating and projecting a new positive image of the country. The aim is to foster an environment that is conducive to attracting investment, promoting exports, attracting tourists and finally, the attraction of skills in Haiti," according to those responsible.
