Following a hearing of nearly 5 hours in the presence of a group of former victims of his regime, before the Court of Appeal of Port-au-Prince, February 28, the former President Duvalier, 61, has been hospitalized, "The day was tiring for him. He was hospitalized immediately after being questioned for nearly five hours by the judges," declared one of his relatives.

Monday, Me Reynold Georges, who did not want to specify in which hospital was hospitalized Jean Claude Duvalier, has indicated that his client already felt bad the day before the hearing. The doctor of the former Head of State, even recommended him not to testify, but he has been decided otherwise.

At the hearing on 28 February, former President Duvalier, who also suffers of cervical arthrosis, appeared gaunt and had great difficulty to express, forcing the clerk to repeat each of his answers.

Thursday, February 7, the Court of Appeal will resume its session with the testimony of the complainants. One of the lawyers of the former president indicated that if his client benefited from the authorization of his doctor, he will be at the disposal of justice. However, according to other sources, and under reserve, the judges would not have ordered, until now to Jean Claude Duvalier, to appear to the resumption of the meeting next Thursday.
