Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe and Bill Clinton guests of honor
Saturday at the Ritz Carton Hotel Coconut Grove in Miami the Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and Former U.S. President Bill Clinton were received as guests of honor at a Philanthropic Summit organized by the members of the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA).

Speaking to an audience of investors and former NBA stars, Laurent Lamothe invited the businessmen and businesswomen present, to come and invest in Haiti and to participate at the same time, to this broad movement for change initiated by the administration Martelly-Lamothe, to make Haiti a country emerging by 2030.

The Head of Government declared that Haiti was on the path of development and took the opportunity to invite the audience to participate in its rebirth. He also recalled that his administration has developed unprecedented social programs in the history of the country, to improve the living conditions of the population and to combat extreme poverty.

The Prime Minister has emphasized on the Government's efforts to implement the campaign promises, of President Martelly, centered around the 5E (education, rule of law, Energy, Employment and Environment). He argued that his Government, through the Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO) has already send 1,287.214 children to school and continues to identify other sources of funding to send more young people to the school.

For his part, former President Bill Clinton, said to have observed enormous progress in Haiti, thanks to the dynamism of the government team. A portion of the funds raised during this philanthropic activity will be invested in the education sector in Haiti.

Recently, the Head of State had declared 2013 the year of the environment and the Prime Minister has not missed an opportunity to stimulate the ancient glories of the NBA to participate in the reforestation project of 22,000 hectares of land that will be implemented jointly with former winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Muhammad Yunus.
