Haiti - Economy : Fight against fraud, 116 million Gourdes recovered

As part of the campaign against fraud undertaken by the Administration Martelly-Lamothe, the Government, through the Banque Nationale de Crédit (BNC), has been able to return to the treasury more than 116 million Gourdes (116,004,576.002). This sum previously designed for the Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO), was misappropriated by malicious users who had made a false list of 766 schools to appropriate the public funds.

Recently, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe has established the Inter Institutional Committee expanded of fight against tax fraud, customs Smuggling, Money Laundering and Corruption, whose mission is to quickly identify cases of fraud in government programs, to recover misappropriated funds and crack down with the utmost rigor against the perpetrators and accomplices.

The Government, more than ever determined to combat fraud in all its forms, invites the public to report any cases observed within the Public Administration in the perspective of ensure transparency and accountability in the management of the thing public.
