Haiti - Health : Mobile Clinic in Côtes-de-Fer
Saturday 16 and Sunday 18 March, the First Lady of Haiti, Sophia Martelly, installed on the public square of Saint Joseph, a mobile clinic in Côtes-de-Fer, on the occasion of the St. Joseph, the patron saint of the town.

This mobile clinic, put at the service of the population cotiferoise, that mobilized two doctors and five nurses is installed in a fully equipped bus donated by the organization "Bus santé" (Health bus). This bus consists of two consultation rooms, a pharmacy and a waiting area, has allowed to 188 patients to receive free general consultation and medicines. Records of patients requiring follow-up medical examination, were transferred to Port-au-Prince for appropriate action.

The population enthusiastically welcomed this initiative of Sophia Martelly and the beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction and wished that the First Lady can continue in this way, by facilitating access to health care for the poor.



First Lady has advised the Haitian population, to have a preventive approach regarding their health and is committed to assist the President of the Republic, in order to really put the basic services accesible to everyone.
