The President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry and Agriculture, is on an official visit in Guyana and Suriname in the context of follow up of recent Summit of CARICOM.

The Head of State will take advantage of this travel to discuss with the Secretary General of CARICOM, on the major challenges faced by the region. The President Martelly will also focus on the conclusions of the 24th Intersessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of State and Government held in Port-au-Prince in February.

In addition, several other important points, such as, inter alia, the integration of Haitian professionals at the Secretariat of the Caribbean Common Market and the procedures for traceability of goods at the regional level, will also be discussed.
