Haiti - Education : Training of teachers and principals 25/03/2013 13:23:45 Over 11.000 agents, members of teaching and administrative staff will be trained. An action that falls in line with the flight to quality, as announced by the Minister of Education, Vanneur Pierre early in the academic year 2012-2013. This training action aims, firstly, to "improve the quality of teaching-learning process by installingamong teachers the minimum skills in basic subjects related to accelerated curricula, through the implementation of PSUGO and to install, on other hand, among principals, skills that empower them to better manage administratively and pedagogically schools involved in the program," according to the document developed by the DFP, on the strategy of training for teachers and directors of PSUGO. This 5-days training session [March 22 to 27], is expected to principals on topics such as : evaluation of learning, pedagogical supervision and leadership in schools. Teachers, meanwhile, will be trained on modules on the evaluation of learning and the elaboration of sheets lessons. To this end, a workshop of transfer is intended for animators of these training sessions, composed of counselors and inspectors. According to Gustave Joseph, Director of the DFP, teams of the Ministry will go in April and June, in the classrooms and in schools, to follow up the training sessions in order to assess the level of implementation of these assets. Note that this training session of DFP, the second for the 2012-2013 academic year is organized in collaboration with the Department of fundamental education (DEF),the training center for fundamental school (CFEF) and theDirectorate of Curriculum and Quality (QCD) of the Ministry of Education.
