Haiti - Security : 400 Sri Lankans peacekeepers en route for Haiti
While Brazil just announced a reduction of its staff by June 2013, from 1.910 to 1.450 men, Sri Lanka (country of South Asia) announces that a contingent of 400 soldiers of the regiment "Sinha", will leave for Haiti on Monday, April 1, to assist in the UN Peace Keeping Mission in Haiti (Minustah). This is the second contingent in less than a week after the 350 men [28 March 2013], to leave Sri Lanka for Haiti.

According to the Sri Lankan army authorities, these peacekeepers provide security to all key towns along main roads and suburbs in Haiti, preventing different armed groups from engaging in violence.
