Haiti - Social : National Day of the Diaspora
Dr. Bernice Fidélia, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) invites the Haitian Community in particular and the general public, to participate in commemorative activities [from 17 to 21 April], of the National Day of the Diaspora, established by the Government of Haiti, according to the presidential decree of 16 March 2011.

This year the MHAVE, in addition to its usual partners, collaborates with the Association of Haitian Diaspora Working in Haiti (ADHTH) for organizing this event and look forward to your participation to enhance the brilliance of these activities around of theme chosen this year "The real integration of the Diaspora for a Haiti green". Wednesday 17, the President Michel Martelly, will deliver the keynote address. Saturday, April 21, at the Karibe Convention Center in Petion-Ville, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, will deliver the closing speech. Consulate of Haiti in Pointe-à-Pitre :
The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Pointe-à-Pitre indicated that in the context of the celebration of the National Day of the Diaspora, an open-door day will be held at the Consulate of Haiti, located at #12 street choelcher, Pointe-à-Pitre.

By decreeing April 20th National Day of the Diaspora, the Haitian Government intends to promote the cause and interests of Haiti through the resources available in the community from the outside. On this occasion, the Consular Mission will organize an exhibition of the works of Haitian painter, Maurice Vital, in the Conference Room of the Consulate. In conjunction with this exhibition, the photographer Richardson Dorvil will proceed with the sale-signing of his book, "Haiti, a country to discover" and will present photographs of the most beautiful sites in Haiti. Activities begin Saturday, April 20, at 10:00 am and will continue throughout the day.

Day of the Haitian Diaspora in Montreal :
The Groupe DP Consultations and its partners, including the Federation of Workers of Quebec, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, the International Centre for Documentation and Information Haitian, Caribbean and African-Canadian (CIDIHCA), Alternatives and the Consulate General of Haiti in Montreal, are proud to achieve together the second edition of the Day of the Haitian Diaspora in Montreal, which will take place Saturday, April 20 from 10:00 am to 20:00 pm at the McCord Museum, 690 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal.

According to Jean David Prophète, CEO of Groupe DP Consultations and coordinator of this event, the Haitian diaspora of Montreal is a major economic pillar for Haiti. More than 130,000 people of Haitian origin are living in Quebec, more than 90,000 are based in Montreal "It is with great enthusiasm that we celebrate this National Day of the Diaspora in Montreal, and share with all Canadians and Quebeckers our love for Haiti."

Consulate of Haiti in Chicago :
The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago recalls that the diaspora has always contributed immeasurably to the survival of our country. "Today, more than ever, we must actively participate in the reconstruction process. A new Haiti is being built, a new futur emerges. It is above all and after all, the future of our dear country."

This year, for the National Day of the Diaspora, the Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago, will join the organization "Hope for Haitian American Youth and Elderly" and the Bethel Evangelical Church, led by Pastor Franco Valdemar to celebrate this important date. The event will be held April 20 in the Church facilities, located at 1900 West Greenleaf, Chicago from 4:00 pm
