Haiti - Politic : Installation of new Director General of the EPPLS 24/04/2013 13:23:03 "The housing crisis rampant in the country does not start today, it continues to the point to take an alarming proportion since the earthquake of January 12, 2010, which destroyed tens of thousands of homes, depriving number of owners of their shelter." With these words, the Minister of Social Affairs has attracted the attention of the new Director of the EPPLS on the main challenge that awaits him at the head of this institution. Inviting the new Director to get to work by best use of the resources that will be made available to him to optimize performance, the Minister reminded the engineer Miot, as often repeats the Head of State, that he has a mission of service. For his part, Mr. Thys Miot thanked and expressed his deep gratitude to the Head of State and the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, who have honored him by their confidence, by placing him at the head of the EPPLS, whose importance in the device of social welfare and security of the country, is well established. Prepare, plan, implement and manage as part of the national social housing policy, of projects for families and individuals with the lowest income, the accession to adequate housing, disseminate all documentation relating to the housing sector, require the technical, scientific and financial cooperation of national, international organizations and private companies, such are the allocations entrusted to the institution whose the new Director said he was aware "The people whose housing conditions have worsened since the earthquake of January 12, 2010, requires living spaces that reflect their dignity, its history and its need for modernity. Too many uncertainties tend to negatively affect our quality of life and exacerbate the social risk.
