Haiti - Politic : Fruitful meeting on the sidelines of the 5th Summit of the ACS

Friday, on the sidelines of the 5th Summit of the ACS, the President Michel Martelly, met with his Chilean counterpart Sebastian Pinera and Mr. Victorin Lurel, the Minister of Overseas Departments of the French Republic, around of strengthening of the Greater Caribbean and the harmonization of relations with Haiti.

The discussions of the Head of State with Chilean President have focused among other things, on the construction of school infrastructure, roads and housing, the exploration and mining activity, building of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the training of Haitian students.

With Victorin Lurel, the President Martelly has obtained financial support from France for translation services within the framework of the integration of French within Caricom. The Head of State also discussed education programs, including the construction in the provincial towns of other French lycées of international standard, supported by France to EFACAP [Fundamental School of Application Pedagogical Support Center] as well in matters of justice, the process of revision of codes. They also analyzed the possibilities of channeling French investment towards the construction of low-cost housing in favor of the Haitian population and a cableway.

The President Martelly believes that harmonization of these cooperative relations, promote the effective development of Haiti.
