Haiti - NOTICE : Major reduction of hours of power
The Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) apologized to its customers for unwanted rationing observed since Thursday 25 April in the metropolitan area. The EDH informs us that the power cuts are due to damage to one of two 21 MVA transformers to the old substation of Delmas, reducing the power supply of 16 hours a day to 8 hours per day in the towns of : Delmas Municipality, Airport Road from the street Justin until Clercine, Road of Maïs Gâté, Petite Place Cazeau, Bel Air and Lalue among others...

The technical teams of the EDH are hard at work to rectify the situation as soon as possible. However, initial assessments indicate that the repair will last at least one month during which the sub-station will not be able to provide electricity to these areas more than about 8 hours per day.

The Directorate of the EDH understands that this unexpected reduction represents a major inconvenience for its customers and ensures that all measures will be taken to restore service as quickly as possible and will continue to inform the public on the progress of the repair.
