Haiti - Economy : «In business in one click», your company in less than 24 hours !
For the first time in Haiti, investors have the opportunity to start their business in less than one day. Indeed, since April 16, 2013, investors in Haiti and abroad are able to acquire a business preconstituted (100 pre-registered) classified into 7 categories: Agro-industry, information technology and communication, holding companies, industry and manufacturing, professional services, tourism and real estate through the new service "In business in one click"established by the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) in collaboration with the National Bank of Credit (BNC) and the Haitian Popular Bank (BPH).
According to Georges Andy René, Director General of CFI, this service is an interim and inovante solution, to reduce delays in the process of establishment of companies, noting that this new service does not replace the noemal process of establishing a business "Companies preconstituted are authorized to operate and are available for purchase by potential investors at a price (of 107,500 gourdes or U.S. dollar equivalent) payable through the CFI website www.cfihaiti.net/store/index.php or to the office of CFI [...] This is very good news for Haitians living abroad as well as foreign investors who will certainly find more easily easier to quickly start their business in Haiti [...] They can come at CFI in a few hours acquire an existing company [...]"
To purchase a preconstituted company, investors must designate a minimum of three shareholders so that the CFI can transfer all the shares of the society "All companies preconstituted have their status written according to international standards and are fully authorized to operate in Haiti. The new shareholders can then amend the statutes or the corporate name of their newly acquired company [...] We believe that this new service will have a positive effect and that will strengthen the competitiveness of the country [...] Haiti has investment opportunities and we have to enter into competition with other Caribbean countries, in order to attract private investment and keep in Haiti."
