The American Corner of the Monique Calixte Library of Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL) will present Thursday, May 23 its usual evening Slam with the participation of two major collective : "Feu vers" and "Hors jeu" and other independent slammers. Admission is on invitation to withdraw for free ate the entrace of the FOKAL from Monday, May 20.

Held annually to celebrate the "National Poetry Month" this activity, which is usually held in April, had to be postponed due to conflicts between students and professors at a university near FOKAL.

Inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, the National Poetry Month is a way to attract the public about the importance of poetry in the affirmation of American culture. National Poetry Month is celebrated in Canada since 1999 and every October in Britain since 2000.

In Haiti, since 2011, the American Corner of the BMC, applies to mark this month dedicated to the poets. This is an opportunity to put in the spotlight, the full value of the Haitian poetic production and greet the constant admiration of young Haitians for this literary genre.
