Fisher pointed out the professionalism of the Chilean education, noting that Chile had already trained more than 200 Haitian police officers in the country, stressing the importance of the training that the Haitian police officers are receive in order to allow the autonomy of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) "It is very important to know personally the training process, I saw Chile's commitment to Haiti and it is a pleasure to know that Haiti has a friend here in Chile," declared the Special Representative, adding that "the future of the Minustah in Haiti is closely related to the development and security [...] we have a plan to support the national police to be able one day to withdraw from Haiti, with the assurance that it has the ability to provide alone the security of the population [...]"

Nigel Fisher will continue his tour in Argentina and Uruguay. Note that Latin America represents 70% of the force of the Minustah present on the territory of Haiti and Chile working in Haiti with about 500 troops, 11 Carabinieri and 2 police officers of investigation.
