Haiti - Sports : Visit of President Martelly to the Carrefour Sports Centre
On Monday, the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by Luis Alberto Moreno, President of the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB), Magalie Racine, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, Jean Edouard Baker, President of the Haitian Olympic Committee and the Departmental Delegate of the West, Mr. Gonzague Day, conducted a supervisory visit to the Carrefour Sports Centre (Centre Sportif de Carrefour).

"Thanks to these rehabilitation, funded by the Treasury to the tune of 1.1 million U.S. dollars, 1,500 young people will benefit from six sports In addition to health programs," informed Jean Edouard Baker who also stressed the importance of sport in the education of young people.

For his part, Luis Alberto Moreno, acknowledged that Haiti was "a good example of efforts in the fight for survival"took the opportunity to identifying new perspectives for the development of sport in Haiti.



In his speech for the occasion, the Head of State thanked the President of the IDB for its support in the training programs for young Haitian athletes and referees and reiterated its commitment to change the lives of Haitians.
