In a statement, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, on behalf of the Government wishes a happy feast to all the mothers on the occasion of Mother's Day.

"This celebration, which recalls the important role played by Haitian women in our society, pays tribute to the courageous mothers of families, who work tirelessly to ensure a better future for their offspring.

The Head of Government, who salutes the courage of the Haitian mothers stresses at the same time the efforts of the Administration Martelly-Lamothe to relieve them in particular, through the Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO) and the Program of National Social Assistance 'Ede Pèp'. These two flagship programs of the Government, helped educate more than 1.2 million children (PSUGO) and financially support almost 80,000 mothers, through their integration in 'Ti manman cheri' one of the sub-programs 'Ede Pèp'

The Prime Minister Lamothe, that formulates his best wishes of happiness to all mothers, including those in the Diaspora on the occasion of Mother's Day, reiterated the strong commitment of the Government to continue to work for the well-being of Haitian families."
