Haiti - Politic : Pierre-Richard Casimir in Moscow 29/05/2013 09:16:51
The presence of the Chancellor Casimir at the meeting between Russian officials and CELAC, falls within the framework of the strong return of Haiti on the regional and world stage, as part of the continuing implementation of the foreign policy of the Government Martelly-Lamothe, characterized by the search for a diversification of partners in terms of international cooperation. Discussions will focus, among others, on the strengthening of economic and trade relations between Russia and the States of the region, the fight against drugs and illicit arms trafficking and the possible contribution of Russia to the implementation of the resolution on the special cooperation with Haiti, adopted by the Heads of State and Government of the CELAC at the Summit of Santiago, Chile, 28 January 2013, in order to support the efforts of the Haitian government in the reconstruction and development of the country. In addition, the Minister Casimir could have a bilateral meeting with his Russian Counterpart Sergueï Lavrov [unconfirmed].
