Haiti - Energy : The Director General of the EDH applauded at the CARILEC conference

The Electricity of Haiti (EDH) participated from 27 to 29 May at the Conference of Directors General of the Association of Electric Companies of the Caribbean (CARILEC), where the Director General of the EDH, Ms. Andress Appolon presented the Action Plan and achievements of the EDH.

The presentation by Ms. Apollon on the challenges and opportunities of the EDH received a great ovation "In the entire history of CARILEC, this is the first time that someone receives a standing applause. This is a historic moment !" stressed the President of the Board and CEO of Barbados Light and Power.

The harsh reality but encouraging of the Haitian State Company, has so impressed the members of the CARILEC, that a fund of more than 150,000 U.S. dollars has been made ​​available of the EDH to ensure its ull participation in the activities of the organization. With this funding, a team of engineers of the EDH will participate in the technical conference of the CARILEC in July to be held in Trinidad and Tobago. In addition, the CEO of Virgin Islands, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have all promised to visit soon the EDH, to identify areas of collaboration and assistance.
