Haiti - Culture : In Mexico the Stand of Haiti attracts crowd
Haiti participates from May 25 until June 9 to the 5th Edition of the "Fair of Friendship Cultures" in Mexico City, to which participates 86 diplomatic missions. This multi-cultural event is held on the Paseo de la Reforma, one of the main streets of the Mexican capital.

Withthe artists, artisans and leaders of the Haitian community, established in Mexico, the Stand of Haiti whose the coordination is ensured by the Embassy of Haiti in Mexico, attracts many people. According to Ambassador Guy Lamothe, "This fair is a great opportunity forMexicansand international tourists to experience Haiti through its gastronomy, crafts and music."

After the fairs of Queretaro and Michoacan is the third participation of Haiti since the beginning of the year, to major mass events in Mexico. In this regard Ambassador Lamothe indicates that this kind of activity allows the diplomatic mission to get closer to the community while opening to Mexicans.



Miguel Torruco, Minister of Tourism of Mexico City, said that the "Fair of Friendship Cultures" receives nearly 1 .5 million visitors and generate revenue estimated at more than 30 million U.S. dollars.

or his part, Lucía García, Minister of culture of the capital, said that this fair is a gesture of friendship towards friendly countries that allows Mexico to be the scene of a major international event, while promoting the right to culture.
