Haiti - Climate : The Head of State invites the population to vigilance and solidarity 06/06/2013 11:54:11
The Head of State, satisfied with the construction work of hree buildings, which will host the COUD, wishes h owever, provide this structure with adequate facilities to better serve the population in case of extreme natural hazards "It is not enough to have beautiful buildings to house the COUD, it also requires appropriate equipment and qualified personnel for a better result in civil protection," promising to take measures to make this COUD more effective. This initiative aims to prevent the loss of human lives and material recorded during the last few decades across the country and also quickly rescue families in case of emergency. In addition, the Head of State urged the youth to join the officials of the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) to strengthen its actions during any period of climate risks. The COUD of Northeast, built at a cost of U.S. $ 2.4 million, is part of the program of construction of 10 COUD through 10 departments, for a total of 34 million U.S. dollars, whose 10 million are available for the training of the agents of the DPC, and the purchase of appropriate equipment.
