Haiti - FLASH : Resignation of Bernice Fidelia - MHAVE

The Communication Office of the Primature inform the general public that following the resignation of the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad Mrs. Bernice Fidelia of Government, the Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and the President of the Republic Michel Martelly decided the following :

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, Mr. Pierre Richard Casimir will held until further notice the function of acting Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) to continue to serve the Haitian diaspora.

In addition, the Office of Communications of the Primature that highlights the efforts of the Prime Minister to improve the living conditions of the population, reaffirms the strong commitment of the Head of the State to fight extreme poverty in Haiti and to keep the country on the path of change.

Let us recall that Mrs. Fidelia had taken office on 25 January 2013, following a cabinet reshuffle, and that she rreplaced Mr. Daniel Supplice. She is also suspected by some parliamentarians to hold U.S. citizenship.
