Haiti - Economy : 16th conference of the Caribbean Postal Union

The Office of the National Coordinator of the Integral Plan of Postal Development in Haiti (PIDEP), recently attended the 16th Annual Conference of the Caribbean Postal Union (CPU) in St Kitts and Nevis.

This important conference for Haiti, gathered all the ministers, delegates and Directors General of postal operators of the Region, which focused on communication problems that hinder the effectiveness of trade of the region.

With the presence of the coordination office of CARICOM, the members of CPU, including Haiti, renewed their commitment to participate in the development of Regional Strategic Plan "Caribbean Single Market Economy" (CSME), which aims to strengthen economic exchanges in the Caribbean region.

During this conference, the 23 member countries of the CPU, voted unanimously in favor of the reduction of Haiti's debt to the CPU, more than 30,000 U.S. dollars. his approach was initiated and promoted by the National Coordinator of the PIDEP, at the benefit of the Post Office of Haiti.
