Haiti - Economy : 10 young entrepreneurs won the competition «My business, My future»

Monday at the Hotel Montana, 10 young entrepreneurs were selected by a jury of personalities from the private sector, among the 30 finalists of business plans competition "My business, My future" (Mon entreprise, mon avenir - MEMA), organized by the "Haitian Business Accelerator" (HBA), an entity of TechnoServe. During a ceremony, they each received a check for U.S. $ 10,000, for having presented the best projects in various sectors such as agro-industry, trade, services and technology among others. 700 projects from ten departments were competing in the annual competition.

Addressing the finalists, Fritz Michel Guillaume, Senior Business Analyst at TechnoServe-Haiti, Contest Director pointed out that the 30 finalists all deserved to be rewarded, having presented the 30 best projects "There are no losers. You will all have the opportunity to work with experts to make your project a reality," adding that the finalists will benefit of a "[...] a follow-up program, completely customized, offered by the HBA, [...] consists of a managerial support for six months and an advanced management training culminating in the eventual creation of their businesses."

Martial Ewald (Project : FEM PA'M - My farm)

Nicodème Sainmestil (Project : Production of fruit compotes in Haiti [commonly called Gerber and used in infant feeding] for a better use of channels: breadfruit, pineapple, guava, mango and fig bananas.

Obed Maurice (Project : Point Vert aqua ferme, aquaculture farm specializing in the production and distribution of tilapia)
