Haiti - Tourism : Tourism Minister defended the budget to Parliament
Thursday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, responded the questions of the Economy and Finance Committee of the Lower House, responsible for analyzing the 2013-2014 budget, to justify the expenses of the Ministry for the current fiscal year and also present the Action Plan and the outlook for the new fiscal year.

Before the Commission, the Minister of Tourism is back on all the achievements of the Ministry to justify the operating expenses and investment in the 2012-2013 Budget.

In addition, the Minister prtesented to the elected the action plan for the next fiscal year. The next budget of the Ministry of Tourism estimated at 447 million gourdes experiencing an increase of 92 million gourdes or 26% compared to the fiscal year 2012-2013 which is 355 million.

According to the Minister, this increase will allow among others the Ministry of Tourism, to strengthen the Departmental Directorates of Tourism, the Institute of Hotel and Tourism Training of Les Cayes, the Directorate of the Unit of Studies and Planning (UEP), the Tourist Police, the reception facilities in the sights...



With this budget, the ministry will be able to continue its policy in terms of executive training, of promotion of the destination, of regulation of the sector and tourism development in priority areas.

Minister Villedrouin, also stressed during her presentation, the tourist royalties imposed by the Finance Act 2013-2014, which will allow the Ministry, in support of the budget that will be allocated to ensure the promotion of the destination.
