Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe in Ecuador

On Monday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe traveled to Ecuador to participate in the 12th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) held in Guayaquil 29 and July 30, 2013.

The Prime Minister will take the opportunity to discuss the strengthening of the cooperation with the members of the ALBA countries, within the framework of the adoption, at the 11th summit, "of the Special Plan" approved by Venezuela in favor of Haiti, aimed the fields of food security, health, agricultural production and infrastructure.

During this summit the Heads of State and Government of the member countries of ALBA, will discuss the development process, of the economic integration in the region and will reflect on social problems faced by their peoples, with a view to providing sustainable solutions. The Haitian government, for its part, will continue to work with the ALBA while preserving its observer status.

The Prime Minister will not fail to promote the image of Haiti and seek investment opportunities in the perspective of creating jobs. In addition, the Head of Government rely on the Member States of the ALBA states to also develop new partnerships in the areas of energy, tourism, trade and industry.

In the absence of the Prime Minister, the interim will be provided by Wilson Laleau, the Minister of Economy and Finance.
