Ric Todd, the Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), accompanied by Don Hue Gardiner, Minister of Border Control and Labour will be in Haiti this Sunday for a 48-hour visit.

On the agenda, meetings are planned with President Michel Martelly, Pierre Richard Casimir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice and Public Security. Topics will include the fight against illegal immigration, development and business partnerships and closer relations between TCI and Haiti.

According to the Governor Todd, the TCI and Haiti have a common interest for the migration between the two nations, is regulated and managed through the appropriate channels, and this visit confirms the continued commitment of both parties to achieve this objective.

In addition to these meetings, the Governor will have the opportunity to meet the TCI business delegation currently present in Haiti. "Both visits underscore the importance of the relationship between TCI and Haiti, and ongoing efforts to strengthen trade and human relations," stressed the Governor of the TCI.
