Haiti - Diaspora : 222nd anniversary of the Bois Caiman ceremony

Lesly Condé, the Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago reminds the entire Haitian community, that Wednesday, August 14, 2013, brings the 222nd anniversary of the Bois Caiman Ceremony [14 August 1791] "very important event in the history of humanity because it led to the creation of the first black republic in the world."

On this occasion, the Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti will organize with the support of the Consular Mission, Friday, August 16, from 7:00 pm, recreational, cultural and patriotic evening at the Levy Center, located at 300 Dodge Avenue, Evanston. Snacks and refreshments will be offered.

The Consulate rely this year again on a good participation of the community in this important event, which celebrates a moment in history whose symbolism should never be forgotten.

In addition, the Consulate will intervene Sunday, August 18 at 7:00 pm on Radio Haiti International Chicago (1590AM or www.1590haiti.com) to address a topic entitled "Bois Caiman Ceremony, an ultimate moment of the defense of the collective interests of the Haitian people."
