Haiti - Reconstruction : Renovation of neighborhood Cité Maria
Saturday, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied among others, of Charles Jean-Jacques, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, visited the urban renewal project of the Cité Maria a locality situated in Canapé Vert.

This project that is part of the fight against extreme poverty, has already led to the renovation of 464 houses, area lighting using 37 solar street lights, construction of a Center for community mobilization , an internet cafe, the distribution of 4,000 "Panye solidarity", 200 vouchers of emergency and the adhesion of more than 500 mothers in the program "Ti manman cheri".

Laurent Lamothe also took advantage of his visit to inaugurate two community restaurants, the 31st and 32nd in the national territory, which have created a total of 256 direct jobs. Both restaurants will allow residents of Cité Maria to enjoy over 1,000 hot meals per day at 10 gourdes per dish.



The Prime Minister, who was very attentive to the concerns of residents, promised that the redevelopment project would be extended to other parts of the country including Cap-Haitien, Gonaives and Jérémie, has reiterated the strong commitment of Administration Martelly to improve the living conditions of the population in order to continue the great crusade against underdevelopment launched by President Martelly.
