Haiti - Education : NATCOM donated 2,000 computers
On Wednesday, the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL) in partnership with mobile phone company NATCOM, has launched the project "Scholaritech" whose purpose is to equip nearly a hundred schools and public high schools in the capital and the province, with a computer lab with 20 to 25 computers, and broadband internet connection. As part of this project, NATCOM donated 2,000 computers, whose the maintenance will be provided by trained technicians for this purpose. The interconnection of schools with each other will also be carried out within the project "Scholaritech".

This project started in the departments of South and Southeast, falls within the framework of the commitments made by the Natcom with the Haitian government during its deployment in the territory. Ms. Djenane Jean Baptiste, Director of Corporate Centre, noted that NATCOM was not to its first involvement in such projects across the country, recalling the provision of access to broadband Internet in public schools.

Jean Marie Guillaume, Director General of CONATEL thanked NATCOM for having taken its commitments and declared that "This support at the service of Haitian school system will improve the quality of education."
