Haiti - Culture : Congratulations to Jean Jean Roosevelt, Gold Medal of the French song

The Ministry of Culture congratulates and pays tribute to Jean Jean Roosevelt, this Haitian artist of the song and the guitar that propelled Thursday, Haiti to the roof of the hall of the 19th century of the Opéra de Nice, France, which took place since last Sunday, the competition of the song that brought together artists from francophone world, as part of the 7th edition of the Games of La Francophonie.

In this high-level competition, which initially met 18 artists from Francophone countries including Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Lebanon, Switzerland, Canada, Rwanda... including several of internationally renowned, Jean-Jean Roosevelt proved that art, imagination, sensitivity, poetry, song and talent were simply Haitians, edging out in the grand finale: Valerie (Austria) Sae Lis (Lebanon), Holy Jah Doves (Rwanda) and Beni-Wende Marietou (Burkina Faso).

The acting Minister of Culture, Josette Darguste behalf of the government, expressed her gratitude while saying "Ayibobo" Jean-Jean Roosevelt "who has confirmed that the Haitian man is shaped in the art and imagination."

President Michel Martelly also congratulated the representatives of Haiti in this 7th edition of the Games of La Francophonie, including singer Jean Jean Roosevelt who won the gold medal in the song contest and Linouse Desravine for her medal bronze in judo.

"The victory of Jean Jean Roosvevelt is the result of hard work of a young Haitian singer determined and convinced of the quality of his art," said the Head of State, who also noted that the artist has played its role as Ambassador, representing his country in one of the most prestigious international competitions, whose the tradition is to bring together not only athletes, but also artists of the Francophone world.

The Head of State that reiterated his great consideration for this talented artist, wish him more success in his career and invites the Haitian youth to take as a model.
