Haiti - Social : Martelly on tour in the South
The President of the Republic, Michel Martelly, has started yesterday, Thursday, a tour in the South, to oversee the infrastructure in progress in this department and inquire about the living conditions of the southern population.

The Head of State, who arrived in Les Cayes, early Thursday afternoon, walked with the population in the city, before holding talks with the citizens of the community. This irst day also led the President to the popular neighborhood La Savane, for the inauguration of a community restaurant, the distribution of school kits and food to mothers and the supervision of the redevelopment of the Beach La Tourterelle.

Accompanied by Charles Jean Jacques, Minister of Social Affairs, Ms. Mimose Félix Minister responsible for the promotion of the peasantry, Serge Chéry, Departmental Delegate South, and Mr. Klaus Eberwien, Director of FAES, the Head of State praised the courage and the support of the population. He described the work in progress on the Beach La Tourterelle of symbol of union of a working people loving the beauty.

The President of the Republic has further emphasized on the necessity for people to stay in solidarity to cope with the major challenges that hamper the development of Haiti. "Only the good will, action and determination can allow the Advancement and Progress of Haiti," declared the Head of State.

During the evening of Thursday 26, the Head of State, accompanied by Chantale Moreno, Director of OIF, Josette Darguste, the Minister of Culture, Frantz Carly Jean Michel, Director of the National Directorate of Books, Pierre Laroque Lébert, Mayor of Port-Salut, and Member of Parliament Coteaux Mr. Astrel Dolné, proceeded to the official opening of the 17th Center for Reading and Cultural Activities (CLAC) of Port Salut.

"The dynamisation of CLAC space of popularization of culture and learning for young people, is an extension of Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory I am advocating. I encourage parents to enroll their children in these structures, in order to facilitate their intellectual development ", said the Head of State that continues to believe in the training of young people to prevent the development of delinquency.

The President of the Republic, invited the southerners to support the establishment of a secure environment conducive to job creation in the country.
