Haiti - Social : Pilot Program «Aba Chomaj»

The Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities with the organization "Fòs Òganize pou Sove 140 komin" (FÒS 140), launched this month, a pilot program called "Aba Chomaj".

This new program designed on the medium term consists in transmit to populations from disadvantaged backgrounds of practical knowledge and diverse, which will be useful to them to get out of inactivity and dependency. The beneficiaries will be thus able to create individual activities and community and generate income, with a potential for personal development.

Currently more than 200 beneficiaries participate in this pilot program "Aba Chomaj" which will extend on several other municipalities. Three training sessions on the manufacture of cosmetics, cleaning and food industry, have been provided by the National Association of Technicians Chemists (Anatech) in a local of Ministry, in Delmas 60.

Major David Bazile, the Minister of the Interior and Local Authorities explained that the program "Aba Chomaj" aims to provide more opportunities to the most vulnerable people. "Ann ede moun vin moun !" insisted the Minister, that also highlighted the human and sustainability nature of the program.
