Haiti - Education : The Ministry of Social Affairs distributed 10,000 school kits

In order to help the most disadvantaged families, Volmy Fils Desrameaux, the Director General of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MAST), proceeded Friday, on the courtyard of the Caisse d'Assistance sociale (CAS) located at Avenue N, to the distribution of nearly 10,000 school kits composed of pens, pencils, school bags and reading books for students of all levels.

Nearly a week after the official reopening of classes, many families have responded like every year at the invitation of the CAS, which proposes to accompany them by providing their children with educational materials for their learning.

"[...] The MAST via the CAS, is distributing school kits to relieve the most disadvantaged, according to the vision of the Government Martelly-Lamothe," declared Mr. Desrameaux, which devotes special attention to disabled and announced the continuation of the distribution across the country in the Departmental Directorates of the Ministry and community restaurants.

Me. Ledor Louis, Director of CAS, insisted on the Government's social policy allowing families in financial difficulty, during the school year, to benefit of social assistance program of the Government Thanks to an effort of Minister Charles Jean Jacques, the CAS was able to respond positively to the request of the families who care to ensure the education of their children," ensuring that the populations of Derac, Fort-Liberté, Boucan Carré etc... will benefit from operations of distribution of school kits in their respective localities.
